Lufkin Police arrest 1 after stabbing at nightclub

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police arrested a Diboll man early Friday following a fistfight which ended with a man being stabbed in the abdomen with a pocketknife.

According to the report, officers responded to Wild Willie's, located at 308 N. Timberland Drive, at 12:04 a.m., in reference to an assault.

The report states officers learned that a security employee for the club had chased the suspect, Julio Alberto Marines, 41, from the bar and caught up to him at 307 N. Timberland Drive.

Witnesses said Marines and the victim, Jorge Barrera, had a fistfight inside the bar's restroom and were kicked out of the club.

In the parking lot, Marines used a pocketknife to stab Barrera in the abdomen, according to the report.

Marines was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.

The report did not state anything about Barrera's medical condition.
