LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Almost two and a half years after it was destroyed by a tornado, a Lufkin business is rebounding.
Performance Truck held its grand re-opening Tuesday in Lufkin to welcome customers and vendors to the brand new building.
In December 2009, an EF3 tornado tore through the building, causing the company to relocate to Ted Trout Drive.
Because the previous building was so old, insurance covered very little of the damage.
Four million dollars later, the company is doing better than before.
"We hope to grow the business," said General Manager Dayne Yeager. "We're impressed with Lufkin's economy and the growth I've seen here in the last five years here in Lufkin. I think it's a viable economy for the future."
Yeager says no layoffs were made. All 35 employees made the move into the new building.
The new building has been up and running for the last month.
