Lufkin man drives into building

Posted: Updated:
LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin man appeared to be unharmed after driving into a business on Denman Avenue Friday morning.

Cpl. Nick Malone said Joe Warner, 79, was driving a Chevy S-10 north on Denman Avenue when he jumped the curb and lost control and hit the wall of FMS Technologies, located at 127 West Denman Ave.

Three employees were in the building, but were not hurt.

"We all thought it was a sonic boom," Betty Wells said.

The window was broken and a telephone table inside was knocked over.

Employees at the business said Warner appeared to be disoriented, but Malone said there were no visible signs of injury. EMS workers were checking him for injuries at the scene.
