JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The four-day search for a boater reported missing on Monday ended Friday morning when authorities found his body near where he first went missing on Lake Sam Rayburn.
Sheriff Mitchell Newman said Evadale volunteer firefighters found the body of Clyde Morgan, 69, of Kirbyville, around 8 a.m. south of Rock Island, which is where his boat was found Monday night.
Newman said Morgan's body had floated to the surface.
Morgan left for the lake around 6 a.m. Monday. He was reported missing around 10 p.m. Monday. Authorities found his boat washed up on Rock Island around 11 p.m. Monday, Newman said.
