NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A disgruntled woman showed her frustration at her former employer by shooting at his residence in Nacogdoches County early Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said deputies were called to the residence on County Road 250 at 2:17 a.m. and learned that Danielle Rene Winters, 41, of Garrison, had gotten intoxicated and took a gun to her former supervisor's residence and began shooting at it.

Kerss said the homeowner returned shots at Winters but neither were hit with a bullet.

"With someone beating on the door and then firing gunshots, he could tell the person was right outside that bedroom window at one point," Kerss said.

Kerss said Winters had been fired from her job at Mr Will's Bar and Grill earlier this week. She had only worked there a few days and one of the managers had fired her.

"It certainly is well within the homeowner's right to defend themselves," Kerss said.

Winters is charged with second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Mrs. Winters perched against the residence, still in a defensive-type position," Kerss said.

"The situation was unfortunate," homeowner Clay Bolletino said. "Beyond her rash action, I feel sorry for her family and kids. The whole situation is sad."

"She was extremely intoxicated at the time of her arrest and to the point once she arrived at the jail we actually were not able to compete the booking process initially."

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
