Severe storms cause damage in parts of East Texas

Posted: Updated:
EAST TEXAS (KTRE) -

Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms have already led to some scattered damage reports across the Piney Woods this afternoon.

According to local law enforcement, strong, damaging winds have knocked down trees along Highway 21 near Geneva in Sabine county.  This same storm also caused damage at the Holly Park Marina on Toledo Bend.  Officials also say that there were downed power lines and tree debris in the area as well.

Further west, this same storm complex knocked down a tree along Highway 21, about five miles southeast of San Augustine.

If you receive any reports of severe weather in your neighborhood, pleas email them to newstips@ktre.com.

We will continue to see scattered thunderstorms in the forecast through the evening hours.  Any storms that do form could contain damaging winds and small hail.
