Authorities: Lufkin man beats up mom, points gun at her, in fight over rent

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a Lufkin man after he allegedly beat up his mother and pulled a shotgun on her Thursday afternoon.

According to the arrest report, Dwight George, 33, was arguing with his mother at a residence on the 200 block of Ross Nash Road over rent money when he knocked her down, pulled her hair and choked her. He then got a 12-gauge shotgun and she hid in the closet and called 911.

Deputies arrived on the scene around 1:30 p.m. and arrested George on second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

George's mother was not seriously injured.
