A Nacogdoches man may wish he kept the beer he was trying to steal after getting sentenced to seven years in prison for throwing it at a store clerk.

Jeremy Lawrence Myhres pleaded guilty to a charge of robbery in District Judge Ed Klein's courtroom on Friday.

Nacogdoches Police arrested Myhres on Oct. 31 after he stole beer at a Chevron gas station, located at 3228 North St. The clerk in the store chased Myhres, who threw one of the beer bottles at him, striking him in the arm.

Police located Myhres at a nearby apartment complex and arrested him. He was charged with theft because he injured the clerk while in the act of a theft.

Myhres has a previous conviction of assault on his record.
