Crockett woman charged with hitting elderly stepmom

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police have arrested a woman charged with hitting her 79-year-old stepmother during an argument at a nursing home Sunday afternoon.

According to the report, officers responded to the 1700 block of North Timberland Drive at 12:51 p.m. The report states Linda Joyce Potts, 45, of Crockett, hit her stepmother during an argument.

The report states the victim reported being punched by Potts and the officer observed a swollen knot under her right eye.

Officers arrested Potts on a charge of injury to the elderly.
