LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police are charging a Nacogdoches man following an incident in which an officer says he was caught having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Jared Deon Fowler, 18, is charged with sexual assault.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, an officer was dispatched to inspect a suspicious vehicle at Winston Park. When he got there, he said he found evidence suggesting Fowler had sex in the vehicle.

The officer said he noticed a young female sitting in the passenger seat and asked how old she was. After she replied she was only 15, he asked her to step out of the vehicle.

The 15-year-old minor explained she had snuck out of her bedroom window to meet up with Fowler, according to the report.

The officer told Fowler that a report would be completed due to the fact that he was having sex with a 15-year-old minor.

Fowler was arrested in Nacogdoches County on Friday and transported to the Angelina County Jail the same day, where he was released on a $10,000 bond the same day.
