A Jacksonville man is going to prison for life after a Cherokee County jury found him guilty of Aggravated Robbery and Injury to the Elderly Wednesday.

"Mr. Rincon was sentenced by the jury to life on each count in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division," stated a news release.

According to investigators, Ruben Rincon, 23, and his brother were caught in the middle of burglarizing a farm in December 2010 that belonged to David Thomason, 73.  Ruben and Hugo Rincon reportedly assaulted Thomason.  Thomason, who suffered injuries that required hospital treatment, was left in the middle of the road leading to the property .  Thomason was discovered by passing motorists.

Attorney Jack Sheridan lead the defense, while Cherokee County District Attorney, Elmer C. Beckworth, Jr. headed the prosecution with Judge Dwight L. Philfer presiding.
