Hemphill store offering $2.89 gas

HEMPHILL, TX (KTRE) -

With economists estimating gas prices dropping closer to $3 every week, one fill-up station is getting ahead of the curve just for the weekend.

Fat Fred's, located at 480 Sabine St. in Hemphill, is offering gas for $2.89 a gallon.

Manager John Ward said the price is only offered until 8 p.m. Saturday. Customers who pay cash get a five-cent-per-gallon discount.

Ward said the lower price is a way to regain customers, now that the store is under new management.
