Verizon's new 4G LTE network aims to provide better cell service in ETX

4G LTE is now available in East Texas for Verizon customers, which expands their 4G coverage to over two-thirds of the US.

Verizon brought the new network to 46 more markets, including Lufkin and Nacogdoches on Thursday. The VerizonWireless 4G LTE network hopes to give customers the best experience in wireless data usage when they stream video, share music and photos, download files and surf the Web with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.

"The introduction of our 4G LTE network to Lufkin and Nacogdoches demonstrates our commitment to continuously expand the network and provide our customers with the highest quality communications standards," said president Krista Bourne of the Houston/Gulf Coast Region, Verizon Wireless. "Our 4G LTE network allows our customers to download music or upload photos faster than ever before, broadening their communications possibilities with family, friends and colleagues."

The City of Lufkin also voted, in April, to install a Verizon cell tower in North Lufkin. It's designed to improve customer cell service in the city.
