BEAUMONT, TX - A 48-year-old Garrison, Texas woman has been sentenced for federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.
Terry Lynn Batson pleaded guilty on Mar. 16, 2012, to bank fraud and was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark. Batson was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $154,634.64.
According to information presented in court, from 2005 to 2011, Batson worked as a care giver for two elderly Nacogdoches County residents. On Feb. 10, 2011, relatives of the two elderly residents contacted law enforcement authorities after reviewing bank accounts belonging to the two elderly residents and determining approximately $154,634.64 was missing.
