CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

Houston County deputies arrested a Crockett man Wednesday following a standoff during an investigation into drug activity.

According to a press release, deputies responded to the 700 block of State Highway 7 West in Crockett. They spoke outside with Michael Greg Marshall, 41, outside the residence. The report states Marshall ran back into the house. He surrendered to deputies after a brief stand-off, according to the report.

Inside the house, deputies reported finding an elaborate indoor marijuana growing system with several large plants. They also seized several guns.

Marshall, who is on parole, is charged with state-jail felony possession of marijuana, third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, third degree tampering with evidence and class A misdemeanor evading detention.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has issued a parole warrant on Marshall.
