LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Monday morning accident between drivers of a Peterbilt truck towing a flatbed and a Nissan Pathfinder has left a Lufkin woman hospitalized.

According to a Lufkin Police report, Susan Worley Carter, 62, had taken the off ramp from Ellen Trout and was traveling east, while James Bernard Hill, 39, had taken the exit ramp from Ellen Trout and was headed south on N. John Redditt Drive.  Hill's truck had cleared the underpass and gone through the traffic light when Carter's SUV collided with his vehicle.

A witness said, Carter had driven her vehicle around another stopped vehicle and disregarded the red light.  Carter was cited for "disregarding a stop and go signal," the report stated.

Carter was flown by helicopter to the trauma ICU unit at ETMC in Tyler.  Her condition was not immediately available for release.
