Nacogdoches attorneys hold public reading of Declaration of Independence

Posted: Updated:

A group of Nacogdoches defense attorneys joined the growing movement of defense attorneys around the nation in simultaneously reading aloud the entire Declaration of Independence.

The annual event is organized by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, according to attorney Tim James.  Nacogdoches participated for the first time this year.

The observance is in celebration of Independence Day.  Defense attorneys and others in the judicial system are asked to gather at 11:30 a.m. for the read along.  The campaign was organized primarily by email and spread across the country.
