LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Dallas man who worked as an undercover drug informant for Lufkin Police on an August 2010 operation was sentenced to five years in prison on Tuesday, after police say he pinched some crack cocaine for himself.

According to an arrest affidavit, Randal Lockhart, 48, was hired to buy drugs at a Lufkin Motel 6. The operation ended with the arrest of Kevin Ryamon Sturgis, 33.

After the bust was over, one of the investigators reviewed the video and observed Lockhart pinch the corner of the packaged crack cocaine. The investigators went back to the room and located the pinched cocaine, according to the report.

Lockhart admitted to pinching the package in an interview with investigators.

Lockhart was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a charge of tampering with physical evidence in September 2010.
