ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The body of a man killed in an early morning traffic accident Thursday has been taken to a morgue in Beaumont in hopes of identifying him.

According to a DPS report, the pedestrian, described as a black male, was walking in the outside lane of Highway 59 South when he was struck by a mini van.  Reynoldo Solis was the driver of the 2008 Toyota Sienna that hit him.

Investigators say Solis was traveling southbound along Highway 59 North, near South Redland Baptist Church, when he noticed the man walking in the outside lane and tried to avoid hitting him, but could not.  The man died at the scene.  The pedestrian was not carrying any identification, according to Trooper David Henry, Lufkin DPS.

The accident happened around 1:25 a.m.  An investigation continues.
