LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

An investigator with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office says he has determined who burglarized a church fireworks stand last week after finding his name on the bag used to carry them.

Inv. Don Carroll said Justin Lee Burchfield, 21, has agreed to turn himself in to the Angelina County Jail on Wednesday, when he will be charged with state-jail felony burglary of a building.

Carroll said Burchfield called the burglary in to 911 as a witness. Deputies arrived on the scene last Monday to find $1,000 in fireworks gone from the stand at Clawson Assembly of God, located on US 69 North.

Someone mowing in the area Friday found two bags of fireworks in the area and turned them in to the sheriff's office.

"It's a good feeling for any investigator to solve a case," Carroll said. "But, when you have a church that's involved, and it works like this, it kind of makes you really feel like God is at work when this happens."

Carroll said one of the bags had Burchfield's name on it, so he questioned Burchfield. Burchfield admitted that he had been drinking that night and stole the fireworks.

Burchfield has a 2009 arrest for theft, which he received nine months of probation.
