(RNN) - There's nothing like love at first sight, err bite. So goes the story of a furry blue Muppet and his affinity for chocolate chip cookies, sung to the tune of "Call me Maybe."
Sesame Street's favorite calorie consumer Cookie Monster is the latest in a long line of aspiring musicians - late night comic Jimmy Fallon, the Harvard baseball team, even a Corgi - to cover the song that has left the internet needing a new term for the word "viral."
The video, officially titled "Share it Maybe," follows Cookie's efforts to get his furry paws on the chocolate chips floating around his office.
"Pie and ice cream, it no phase me. But you got cookie, so share it maybe," he croons in desperation as he stalks staff meetings, raids the break room and even leads an office dance troupe in search of the perfect soft and chewy, melt-in-your-mouth treat.
But, alas, the cookie of his dreams eludes him.
"Me start to freak out. Someone call the Girl Scouts," he sings as his love (addiction?) goes unrequited.
The video has been viewed more than 20,000 times since being uploaded to the Sesame Street YouTube page on Tuesday.
Carly Rae Jepsen's sugary sweet pop original has been viewed nearly 150 million times on YouTube.
But with a little time in the oven, who knows how many views Cookie's ode to, well, cookies, can bake up?
