ATHENS, TX (KLTV) -
A Henderson County grand jury has
indicted a Nacogdoches man on theft charges in connection with the plane stolen
from an Athens hangar in January.
According to the indictment, on January 28 of this
year, Terry Lynn Boozer, 56, of Nacogdoches, stole a single engine aircraft,
valued at more than $100,000, from a hangar at the Athens Municipal Airport.
An eight-year-old Nacogdoches boy was honored by the
Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office for helping authorities to identify Boozer
as the suspect in the plane theft.
Madi Simmons alerted his father when the plane landed
on a private airstrip near his home.
A trial date has not yet been set in this case.
Boozer recently pleaded guilty to a federal charge of
conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in Angelina County. He's awaiting
sentencing on that charge.
