LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A pair of Lufkin brothers found themselves back behind bars a day after a public intoxication arrest after police arrested them in connection to the theft of a ring Wednesday afternoon.
Det. Gabe Wall said the brothers, Jonah Paul Kellum, 18, and Samuel David Kellum, 25, took the ring to a jewelry store in Lufkin. The owner already knew the ring may be coming in and called police when they arrived.
The brothers stole the ring, which looked like a class ring, out of an unlocked vehicle, around 3 p.m. Wall said.
Wall said the ring is valued at $1,800.
The name of the jewelry store and more details on the case are being withheld to protect the investigation.
Lufkin Police arrested the brothers Tuesday after they were found to be intoxicated in the parking lot of a gas station at 9:01 a.m., according to a report.
