A Lufkin teenager indicted on murder charges for allegedly killing his unborn twins will have his day in court, alone. Eighteen-year-old Gerardo Flores remains in the Angelina County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Although Flores is charged with the murders of his unborn children, police also investigated his girlfriend. Police were looking into whether the 16-year-old mother may have worked with Flores to initiate her own abortion.
Under a new law, the girl cannot be charged in the death of her fetuses. The Laci and Conner's Law protects unborn children, but it also protects a pregnant woman from prosecution in the death of her unborn children.
