NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A man suspected of shooting at a woman was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head by Nacogdoches Police Friday morning. He died later Friday.

According to a press release, officers responded to a reported kidnapping on the 100 block of Dutch Alley at 9:18 a.m. Officers learned a man, Lamondre Moore, 25, of Nacogdoches, had fired a handgun twice at a woman and ran away. The woman was not hit with a bullet.

Officers began searching the area and at 9:34 a.m., heard a single gunshot in the vicinity of Third Street and Orton Street. Officers found Moore in a wooded area, with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers also found a 22-caliber gun at the scene.

Moore was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital, where he later died, according to Sgt. Robert Mobley. He is a suspect in the shooting case.

Moore has previous felony convictions on his record.
