NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches man found not guilty of assaulting a jailer in December 2010 is back behind bars after authorities connected him to the theft of a tractor.

According to the report, the tractor was reported stolen on June 12 on County Road 109. Deputies managed to locate it at a Lufkin scrap yard and were able to get information there to connect Nickolai Savant Davis, 36, to the theft.

Deputies served a warrant for state-jail felony theft to Davis Thursday night.

Davis was charged with assaulting a public servant in December 2010 when authorities alleged he attacked a jailer while he was being arrested for sex offender's duty to register. He was acquitted of the charge in January 2012.
