DESOTO, TEXAS (KLTV) - The DeSoto police department will file charges against Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who turned himself in Monday on allegations that he assaulted his mother, Angela Bryant, on Saturday.
Bryant faces a charge of family violence, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ron Smith, the DeSoto police department public information officer, said the department has concluded its investigation and will move forward with charges.
Bryant faces up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
He may also face suspension from the NFL in accordance to their personal conduct policy.
