CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

A Houston County jury has found a Grapeland woman guilty of killing her husband.

The jury handed down the verdict Thursday afternoon. They listened to testimony for the sentencing phase. Closing arguments on that phase will be heard on Friday before the jury goes back into deliberations.

Tina Bernard, 45, was arrested in early December 2010 after law enforcement responded to her 911 call.

They found her husband, Ernest Bernard, 43, dead from a gun shot wound, lying on their living room floor.

According to the arrest affidavit, Tina Bernard told investigators during questioning that her husband had been agitated all evening, yelling at the family, and that she "just wanted it to stop."
