East Texas officials prepare for Tuesday's run-off elections

Posted: Updated:

On Tuesday, East Texans will have one more chance to place their votes in the run-off elections.

So far, turn out during early voting was lower than expected. A little over two-thousand voted early in Angelina County and about three-thousand in Nacogdoches County.

Tuesday, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It's a little different in Angelina County this election. Instead of 42 polling places, there will be eight, with some places serving as many as seven precincts. If you're not sure where to vote, just contact the tax office.

"There are some other issues, you know, that you need to consider when you're voting. You're voting for someone to be in the office to fulfill the needs of the community," said Angelina County Tax Assessor-Collector Thelma "Midget" Sherman.

Sherman is hoping at least two-thousand more voters will cast a ballot tomorrow. Tuesday night, KTRE and KTRE.com are your home for "Your Voice, Your Vote" election coverage as returns stream in.
