LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police have canceled a missing alert for a 49-year-old man who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.

According to Lufkin Police spokesman JB Smith, Curtis Chambers was located at GODTEL in Nacogdoches. Someone with the shelter saw media coverage about him and called the shelter director. His sister is on the way to pick him up.

Police say Chambers was last seen on July 27, when he left his home on Dianna Street and told his sister he was going fishing near Etoile on Lake Sam Rayburn.

Chambers has gone missing in the past and ended up in Oklahoma.
