LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A federal judge has ordered a Lufkin doctor to pay back more than $375,000 in restitution to the government but is keeping him out of prison, at least for now.

Judge Ron Clark ordered David Anthony Mosig, 60, to pay an exact amount of $375,850.09 and two serve two years of probation.

Mosig pleaded guilty to a charge of making a false statement on an individual income tax return in April.

A federal grand jury indicted Mosig in October, accusing him of claiming total incomes of $0 in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Mosig did some work at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital's emergency room.
