Clardy announces priorities as new District 11 State Representative

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Travis Clardy says he's wrapped his head around the reality of becoming the next State Representative for Texas District 11.

The attorney was welcomed by his fellow Rotarians Wednesday, following many congratrulatory phone calls, including one from the man he defeated -- Representative Chuck Hopson.

Clardy says he's anxious to set some priorities for when he makes it to Austin.

"What we need to do is get organized, lay out a plan, and let's do those things that are most important. Obviously Stephen F. Austin State University is job [number] one, I believe for this State Rep seat. I'm vitally interested in Lake Columbia and Lake Cherokee -- we've talked about that."

The Republican plans to spend a lot of time visiting each of the counties he represents, especially Cherokee and Rusk counties.
