The 2011 season was like a tale of two teams for SFA football. The team's start was a little shaky as they started just 1-5 through their first 6 games. But what the 2012 team is trying to build off of is the face that they finished strong. The 'Jacks won their last 5 games of the season and quarterback Brady Attaway says that has built a lot of confidence.
"Those last five games last year really got us going," said Attaway at camp Wednesday. "If we would have started like that, who knows what we could have done."
It also helps that Attaway knows he won't have to battle for his spot on the depth chart this year. Attaway is the clear starter at Quarterback after winning the spot in last year's camp.
"I feel a lot more comfortable out there on the field," said Attaway. "Just being out there and getting all the reps with the ones is really going to help me prepare for the season, I'm just excited to get the season started."
SFA gets the season underway at home again in 2012. The Lumberjacks will face Southwestern Oklahoma on Thursday, August 30th. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium.
