NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Three people are injured following a head-on collision on US 259, north of Central Heights, around 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
As of 11 a.m., both southbound lanes were closed as crews cleaned up the scene.
According to the DPS report, David Velasco, 54, of Houston, was driving a 2001 Ford Expedition northbound on US 259 and tried to make a U-turn. He was struck by a 2002 Ford F450, driven by Benjamin Johnson, 32, of Mount Enterprise.
One of Velasco's passengers, John Lansrud, was ejected from the vehicle. He is listed in critical condition in a Nacogdoches hospital. Velasco and another passenger, David Velasco, are also being treated for injuries.
