Burke man drowns in Trinity River

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Burke man died after apparently drowning in the Trinity River Tuesday night.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Shawn David Brashier, 39, was visiting his sister in the Holiday Lakes Subdivision in Polk County when he and his girlfriend decided to go to the river. At 7:53 p.m., a 911 caller said the girlfriend was found walking along Pecan Drive and saying her boyfriend had drowned.

Brashier's body has been sent off for an autopsy.
