A DPS Trooper was injured in a wreck in Upshur County this morning.
According to authorities, Trooper Drew Nipp was attempting to do a U-turn for a traffic violation on Highway 271 about five miles south of Gilmer, with his siren activated. A truck moving the same direction did not slow down and T-boned trooper Nipp's drivers side door.
Trooper Nipp was transported to a Longview hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to ETMC in Gilmer. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.
