Lufkin ISD proposed and passed a memorial for the late coach John Outlaw at Abe Martin Stadium by renaming the field in his honor. The sign is set up in the north endzone where the word "Lufkin" was located before.
The official dedication with special pre-game ceremony is set for when Lufkin faces Tyler Lee on September 7th. That is the first game to be played on "John Outlaw Memorial Field" at Abe Martin Stadium. Here is an advanced look at the new set up at "The Abe."
