4 Nacogdoches men charged with beating man, taking wallet

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police arrested four men who are accused of breaking into a residence and beating a man and stealing his wallet Tuesday night.

According to the report, officers responded to the 600 block of Hayward Street at 10:27 p.m., in reference to a burglary. When the first police unit arrived, they saw a suspect vehicle leave the scene and followed it in to the 300 block of East Main Street. Officers on Hayward Street determined a 35-year-old man was asleep in his residence when several men forced in the door and began assaulting him and stole his wallet. One of the suspects had a handgun. The suspects stopped on East Main Street fit the description of the suspects and were arrested.

Police arrested Kelwendrick Davis, 18; Luis Perez, 17; Adolfo Venegas, 17; and Deandre Dontell Wade, 20; all of Nacogdoches, on a charge of first-degree burglary of a habitation.

Police collected a handgun and other evidence connecting them to the burglary.

The victim was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
