Proud of East Texas: Denise Marsoun

People come from throughout the state to buy their wardrobes at a little shop in Winnsboro. Most of Denise Marsoun's customers at her "Silliouette Dressmaking Shop" are wild west and Civil War enactors, rodeo queens and performers.

Marsoun, who opened her shop two years ago and has been busy ever since, has the only place around where you can order a shirt like John Wayne wore in his movies, an antebellum dress, a Patsy Cline costume, or a Confederate uniform.

Marsoun uses only natural materials and strives for authenticity in her creations. She's always lived in big cities before moving to Winnsboro, but finds the creative atmosphere of the little East Texas town "invigorating and inspiring."
