Michigan man gets probation for trafficking pot through Angelina

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Michigan man caught trafficking marijuana through Angelina County pleaded guilty to the crime, accepting a probation sentence Wednesday morning.

Delbert Earl Mattox, 22, pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree possession of marijuana and will serve a four-year probation sentence.

Mattox was caught with two others during a traffic stop in February 2011 with 20 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of a their car.

A trooper stopped them after they were caught speeding and found the marijuana in the trunk.

James Edward Watson Jr., of Houston, accepted the same sentence in July 2012. Jordan Williams, of Michigan also accepted a four-year probation sentence in February.
