A juvenile was taken into custody early Thursday morning after a drive-by shooting in Tyler.

Just after 12:30 a.m., police responded to a complaint of shots fired at a home in the 800 block of West 32nd Street.

The suspect vehicle was spotted and a short pursuit ensued. Four black males fled from the vehicle while it was still in motion in the 2800 block of N. Border. Officers captured one of the suspects, who is a juvenile, hiding in the area a short time later. The others got away on foot.

Police found a gun and the other evidence in the vehicle.

The captured suspect was taken to the Tyler Police Department and was interviewed by detectives and charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest.

He will be transported to the Smith County Juvenile Attention Center.
