Second person arrested in robbery attempt, shooting of store clerk

LAKE PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) -

The Palestine Police Department has arrested two suspects in a convenience store robbery that occurred in Palestine over the weekend.

After viewing video from the surveillance cameras at the store and getting several tips from concerned citizens, police were able to conclude that John Nicholas Hicks and Jhamerrick Milton were involved in the attempted robbery at Mr. D's.

After interviewing numerous people, detectives arrested 17-year-old, John Nicholas Hicks for his involvement in the robbery. Hicks was taken into custody in the 100 block of Devonshire on Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. Hicks declined to talk with police.

On Aug. 23, 2012 Detective Tommy Thacker and Detective David Kassaw arrested 17 year old Anthony Mrdjenovich. During the investigation detectives were able to establish the ownership of the truck which lead to the two arrest.

Police are still unable to locate Jhamerrick Milton.

The Palestine Police Department has an active warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Jhamerrick Milton.

During the robbery at Mr. D's Convenience store, one of the suspects shot 62-year-old Fred Robinson, the store clerk, in the face.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Milton are asked to call the Palestine Police Department at 903-729-2254 or CRIME STOPERS at 903-729-TIPS.
