LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A small fire proved to be a tough task to tackle for fire crews Friday afternoon because of the material it was burning: shredded paper.

According to Assistant Fire Marshal Steve McCool, the fire started in a Security Shredding truck on Ted Trout Drive at 12:47 p.m.

McCool said the fire was time-consuming because they had to be sure the fire was completely out, because of all the shredded paper. Once they knocked it out, the truck was taken back to the shredding company, where it was off-loaded to insure it would not rekindle.

Officials do not know what started the fire.
