Police: Lufkin residents at home during rash of burglaries

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - From Lufkin Police

LUFKIN, TX - Lufkin Police Department is investigating ten recent burglary and attempted burglary incidents which may be related. The incidents occurred between August 17 and 26, 2012, and between the hours of 7:30 PM and 11:00 PM.

The burglaries occurred, at residences located on Oleta Avenue, Hemlock Road, Shermell Street, River Oak Street, Brassell Street, and Tom Temple Boulevard. Each incident involved forced entry, or attempted entry, into a residence and tampering with outdoor lighting or telephone lines.

Three of the residences were occupied when burglarized. The victims in those incidents described the suspect as a tall, large, black male wearing dark-colored shorts and a dark-colored shirt. When confronted by the victims, the suspect fled from the residences.
