CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches woman in Corpus Christi for a job interview had her car stolen from a man who met her at a bar early Tuesday, according to police.

According to an arrest report, the 18-year-old woman told Corpus Christi Police she and several friends came to town from Nacogdoches to interview for jobs. She and her friends went to a bar on the seawall after the interviews and met Gerry Vaughn Brooks, 33.

Brooks offered to drive them around town and to another bar and left them on the 600 block of Leopard Street around 2:30 a.m. The woman reported Brooks left alone in her 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant.

The woman reported her $2,500 car stolen at 10:30 a.m.

Officers found the vehicle on South Alameda at Cole Street at 1:18 p.m. and stopped and arrested Brooks, on a charge of state-jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
