SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

San Augustine officials are now looking for a suspected copper thief.

Thursday evening sheriff's deputies issued a warrant for the arrest of Collis Simmons, Jr.

Forty-five year old Simmons is a white male with short brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'4" and weighs 130 pounds.

Simmons is suspected to be connected to a copper theft from the Deep East Texas Electric Co-op.

Officials say Simmons has a history of evading arrest and will likely flee if confronted by law enforcement officers.

If you have any information that can lead to Simmons' arrest contact your local law enforcement agency or the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office at (936) 275-2424.
