Longview house fire victims still in serious condition

Posted: Updated:
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A Longview home was left heavily damaged and the homeowners were transported to the hospital after their home caught fire Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Fairview Drive.

Officials say Jean Jake, 62, was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with life threatening burn injuries. Her husband, Michael Jake, 68, was also transported to Parkland with serious injuries. At this point their conditions have not changed.

The fire is now out and the home is heavily damaged. Officials believe the fire started from a gas leak near a motorcycle within the garage of the home. Along with the home, two vehicles, the motorcycle, a boat and an RV were all destroyed in the fire.
