HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Two Clark County School District teachers posted bond after being arrested Monday on charges of having sex with a 16-year-old female student.

Bambi Dewey, 32, was arrested Monday by CCSD police at Brown Junior High School, near Racetrack and Warm Springs roads. Dewey is a Las Vegas native who has been employed as an English and writing instructor for five years.

"She was the kind to like help students, and if you needed anything from her she would always be there to help after school. It really did surprise me to learn that," said Cassandra Milazzo, who had Dewey's English class last school year.

John Stalmach, 31, a teacher at Dailey Elementary School in Las Vegas, was also arrested. Stalmach previously taught at Basic High School and Brown Junior High School.

It was alleged that between November 2011 and January 2012, Dewey and Stalmach, a couple, had sex with the teen at a home in Henderson that they shared. Stalmach is also alleged to have had sex with the student without Dewey present.

The alleged victim was a student at Brown Junior High when Dewey and Stalmach both taught there.

Both Dewey and Stalmach were released from Henderson Detention Center after being booked on charges of solicitation of a minor. Stalmach is additionally charged with sexual conduct between an employee of a school and a pupil.

Dewey posted $20,000 bond while Stalmach was released on $60,000 bond, according to Henderson police.

The Clark County School District said both teachers have been suspended without pay and that the district is moving to terminate both of them.

Dewey and Stalmach were scheduled to make their initial court appearances on Oct. 1.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
