The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office is charging a Garrison man with leaving his four children, all under the age of six, home alone while he took a relative home.
Iaian Wells Crippen, 27, is charged with state-jail felony abandoning a child.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of County Road 128, at 7:23 p.m. following a call for a welfare check.
The deputies reported four children, all under the age of six, were at the home alone.
About 45 minutes after the call came in, the mother and father arrived home, with CPS officials and deputies waiting for them.
The parents explained they had left to take a relative home from work.
The report states CPS did not wish to take custody of the children and they turned the children over to the mother. Deputies arrested Crippen.
The report states charges will likely be filed on the mother.
