U-turn ends in Trinity man's death

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity man died Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle wreck in the morning caused when he took a U-turn in Trinity County.

Kyle Lane Webb, 19, died at 3:15 p.m. at a Houston hospital.

According to the DPS report, Webb was traveling westbound on State Highway 94, at the intersection of Sammy Davis Road. He was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram and attempted a U-turn and was struck by a 1992 Peterbilt 18-wheeler, driven by James Carter, of Cleveland.

Webb was not wearing a seatbelt.

Webb's passenger, Tiffany Rene Rothlander, 24, of Trinity, was injured. She is listed in critical condition in a Houston hospital. It is not known if she was wearing a seatbelt.
